Sanlu Group Essay The entire world was recently disturbed by the extensive scandal involving imported and contaminated milk coming from China. One company, the Sanlu Group, is believed to be at the center of this milk scare, and it is even speculated that the company had knowledge of the scandal before it was reported (Indiatimes, 2008). Sampling of imported milk from the top three Chinese milk companies are already being conducted worldwide, and it is estimated that ten percent of such milk samples are tainted with melamine, a toxic chemical. Several countries already had varying numbers of children affected or dead, resulting from the contamination of the products (Reuters Foundation, 2008). The said toxic chemical is said to be rich in nitrogen, and it makes the protein level appear higher for milk that has been watered down. Some of the observed harmful effects of melamine on humans, particularly children, are kidney stones and worse, death (Reuters Foundation, 2008). This scandal not only has deleterious effects for the business of China. Worse, it has caused death and severe health consequences to children in various countries across the world. The disorder resulting from the deaths and other injuries has now spread such that most, if not all, countries are conducting tests to determine whether their milk has melamine content. Furthermore, there has been a loss of confidence and a growing doubt in the minds of people on the food products coming from China, and this definitely causes riot in the health community, including the experts and the end consumers. Virtually every culture has strived to achieve a Utopian society. A Utopian society is basically a society, which has surpassed aggression, war, hate, and crime while establishing â€Å"peaceful† and orderly communities. A Utopian society could not exist with the individuality that nature has bestowed on the human race. So long as humans remain unique in their state of mind, utopia is a mere fantasy. To work around this problem a society must adapt itself to achieve a utopian-like state. This can be achieved by one of two ways. One way could be known as a â€Å"hostile transfer.† This way is shown in the novel â€Å"farenheight 451† by ray Bradbury. Bradbury shows how the society creates a career of burning books (specifically historical books). The semi communistic semi utopian government then fills in their own twisted version of the past to maintain a stable state of control by keeping their citizens oblivious to their true rights and privileges. This achieves a semi utopian society in the scene that any resistance, crime, aggression is either insignificant to the â€Å"big picture† or easily overcome. Utopia is dismissed in this case because of the extreme force used to maintain.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The second way to achiever a semi utopia could be called a â€Å"Manipulative utopia†. A strong example would be the utopia created for the novel â€Å"1984† by George Orwell. Within this utopia the society is manipulated by the leading organizations/ government to take pleasure in what would be most profitable to the organizer of the event/product, or be intimidated yet assured with protection by the government. This type of utopia-communistic government dismisses the true utopia factor when the ability to show signs of individuality is disabled through manipulation. The two utopia-like societies have their similarities as well. They both operate independent of other state/country/ or province; both seem to strongly oppose the democratic systems. Both central governments are very cryptic when the issue of past societies is brought up. The commanding organizations also controlled one other aspect of civilization... the media. Newspapers revolving around a â€Å"one sided† political, or military event. The media seems to be very controlled by the governments or leading parties in both cases.

For example, this system cannot store the information of the patients and the diagnosis of the doctors. This is due to they are still using the manual ways in handling their patient records. Therefore, they will need to look for the records and it will be troublesome if the records have been kept for a year. Besides that, there will be a need in calculating the medical fees. It will be not efficient if they are still using the manual way to do the calculation.After that this system also will print the receipt and the report. Therefore, this system is developing to make the management of the clinic more systematically, easier and smooth. This clinic will do some charity, like didn’t count the consultation fee for all the patients, the poor people also afford to pay the medical fee. Because some patient not affordable to pay the expensive medical fees, they will choose don’t want go for treatment, maybe will cause the disease become serious.This system is a system were using the first come first serve method, so it will not provided appointment for the patients to book the appointment, because this is not fair for those walk in patients if they come early in the morning but because of the appointment patients, they have to wait until doctor finished the appointment patients first only diagnose them. In this system, I will include some modules. These modules are login, searching for the staff information, product information, and patient information, calculation for medication fee, delete and update module, clear, print receipt PLANNING PHASE Problem StatementThere is a few problem that occur if there is no systematic system for this clinic. It will be taking longer time to look for the records of the patient and medical dispenses. Besides that, it also require larger storage place, not environment friendly since they are using papers in keeping the records and the inactive records which have been put aside must have been lost. Besides that, some of the records are missing due to the large amout of patients record or information.
